April 28, 2008 – All lots of Digitek tablets are being recalled because they may contain a dangerous double dose of their active ingredient, digoxin The existence of double-strength pills poses a risk of digitalis toxicity, which can result in nausea, vomiting, low blood pressure, cardiac instability, bradycardia and even death.  The FDA has received numerous reports of illness and injury due to digitalis toxicity.

Digitek tablets are distributed by Mylan Pharmaceuticals, Inc., under a “Bertek” label and by UDL Laboratories, Inc. under a “UDL” label.  Digitek is a registered trademark of Actavis Totowa (formerly known as Amide Pharmaceutical, Inc.).

Digitek/Digoxin Overdose

Digitek/digoxin is used in the treatment of arrhythmias and heart failure.
