Premises Liability

When someone is injured as a result of unsafe property or building conditions, they may have a right to make a claim for their damages against the owner of the property. Premises liability law involves the legal responsibility of owners and occupiers of property for accidents and injuries experienced by persons on the property. The most common accident is a trip or slip and fall, such as on an improperly maintained floor. The actual liability of the responsible party varies depending on the jurisdiction where the mishap occurred. A lawyer with experience in premises liability can determine whether liability exists in a particular case, who is liable, and what kind of damages an injured person can recover for their pain and suffering, lost wages, and/or medical bills.
